Las Vegas Travel GuideLas Vegas often referred to as sin city is a great place to visit for anyone who enjoys fun, great food, great accommodations and relaxation. No matter which kind of entertainment that you’re looking for you can find it in Las Vegas. Las Vegas offers some of the finest food in the world, whether you’re looking for the exotic or just plain fare you can find it here. If you want to stay on the strip and go cheap for an inexpensive Las Vegas hotel you can do that or spend a fortune the choice is yours. When it comes to sites and experiences there’s just no place like Las Vegas attractions. In about an hour you can go up into the mountains, been a national park, see one of the world’s largest dams or see a world-class singer, Las Vegas is your place.

Las Vegas Hotels

Looking for a hotel on the Las Vegas strip and you don’t want to pay a lot you can find it, you can choose the Linq or the Excalibur. Looking for a luxurious hotel with the casino you could choose the Orange Mandarin or with a casino you could choose the Wynn. Regardless of your choice you’ll always get a room that will be clean and comfortable. All the hotels on the strip have their own personality and their own value, take your pick. You might want a hotel that has a wonderful pool or maybe you want to spend your time at a spa. No matter where you stay on the strip there is a hotel there that will give you everything you might desire and more.

The more expensive Las Vegas hotels would include the Venetian, the Wynn, the Orange Mandarin, and the Four Seasons.  On the high end of the moderate cost would be Caesar’s Palace, the Bellagio, Paris, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand and the recently completed Cromwell.

Las Vegas hotels on in the moderate range would include Bally’s, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Flamingo, Treasure Island, the Luxor, Tropicana, Monte Carlo, the Mirage, New York New York, Harrah’s, the Rio and the Palms. Just keep in mind that some of these hotels are not right on the strip such as the Rio on the Palms, however it is not too far from the strip.

Looking for a less expensive experience in Las Vegas and it comes to hotels you can look at any of the hotels downtown except maybe for the Golden Nugget which might be more in the moderate range. On the strip though you’d be looking at Circus Circus, the Excalibur and the Linq.

One thing to keep in mind when you’re choosing a hotel on the strip there is an extra fee that is being charged as of late, when I say of late were talking in the last 10 years. This fee is called a resort fee and that is to cover charges for the use of the pool Internet and other hotel amenities that is provided whether you use them or not. The fee can run anywhere from $18-$25 a day. The purpose for this fee is to give the hotels an opportunity to say they have the lowest prices on the strip. There is a rumor running that this fee will have to be included in the hotel price starting in 2016.

Las Vegas Entertainment

Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the United States if not the world. When we are talking about entertainment you might think it be just paid for entertainment that there’s one great show that is totally free which is the Bellagio Fountains and there is one other free show which is the volcano at the Mirage. Hands-down the Bellagio Fountains is the number 1 Las Vegas entertainment that is free! The Mirage volcano is quite spectacular and filled with sights and sounds, you could even feel the earth rumble. What makes the Bellagio Fountains so wonderful is that it’s water dancing to some fabulous music. We would certainly be remiss if we did not mention the Fremont Street experience which is located in downtown Las Vegas on Fremont Street. This is a light and sound show that is pretty spectacular and if you’ve never seen it it’s a must-see.

It would certainly be incorrect to leave out the Cirque du Soleil shows. Right now there is a operating in town although the one Cirque show, Zarkana is leaving Aria in April there is a rumor that the Beatles show at the Mirage is also departing. Time will tell on that. Many people wonder what a cirque show is, the best way to describe it is pure entertainment. The storyline itself is and so strong but you’ll laugh and be amazed and certainly entertained. Don’t go to the show with the thought that there is going to be a clear story just enjoy the spectacle. Mainly it’s comedy and incredible acrobatics combined into a colorful spectacle.

When it comes to Las Vegas entertainment, the paid kind, you can certainly find world-class entertainment from Celine Dion, Jay Leno, Jennifer Lopez and a host of others that are way too many to mention here. Of course are not there all the time you have to check to find out when your favorite artist will be there.  Naturally in Las Vegas there’s always entertainment not necessarily the best entertainment at times but for the most part you will certainly get your money’s worth. Magic was one of the big shows at one time in Las Vegas, although you will find magic in Las Vegas and magic shows there are far fewer than there was before. However there’s plenty of variety shows, adult shows (we are not talking strippers here) and plenty of singing and dancing.

If you enjoy having a few drinks and listening to a singer a comedian there always the lounge acts that are very entertaining. And you will find several shows that offer Dueling Pianos. These can be a lot of fun because you just want to sing along.

The bottom line is there is always entertainment in Las Vegas and something you will enjoy in one way or another.

Las Vegas Attractions

When it comes to attractions Las Vegas has more than you might think. For one thing you might not be aware that there’s a national park about an hour from the strip called Red Rock Canyon. There’s walking trails and vistas, mountains and meadows not to mention horseback riding.

Everyone knows about the Hoover Dam however you might not know that you can tour the dam.

However there’s many different attractions in Las Vegas such as Dig This which is a place you can goal and operate state-of-the-art heavy equipment and is one of the top attractions for the city. Of course there’s horseback riding as we mentioned in there’s expert at exhibitions such as the Titanic and Bodies located at the Luxor.

Not only that, but there is roller coasters located at New York New York, the Stratosphere and the Circus Circus dome. And if you’re looking for even more excitement there’s a permanent zip line in downtown Las Vegas going just under the Fremont Street Experience and one other one going between the towers of the Rio.

So if you’re looking for something to do in Las Vegas just check out the attractions there is just a ton of things to do and if you’re a CSI fan you can check out the CSI experience over at MGM although I don’t know how long that will be there since the show is fading. Regardless there is no doubt you will find something to do in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Food

Certainly Las Vegas food is varied and diverse. You can eat at some of the finest chefs in the world’s restaurants or you can get inexpensive items such as hotdogs for a very low price. Mainly, whatever your taste in food is you can find it in Las Vegas.

Joelle Robuchon, Guy Savoy and Gordon Ramsay are some of the top chefs that you will find in Las Vegas. Of course there’s many others Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Hubert Keller, Charlie Palmer and Wolfgang Puck are some well-known names. We could go on but you get the idea. The other half of that equation is to know that means that the price is not cheap, you can spend a bundle at anyone of these marvelous restaurants.

Needless to say there are some people that say will New York as some of the best restaurants, the fact is many of the New York restaurants are actually in Las Vegas. For instance Le Cirque, Gallagher’s and even the world famous Carnegie Deli.

One thing is changed about Las Vegas food is that the majority of hotels now offer a food court which offer anything for McDonald’s or Johnny Rockets and Nathan’s hotdogs and many other fast food establishments that you would recognize.

Las Vegas food is famous when it comes to Las Vegas buffet. Nearly everyone that goes to Las Vegas tries out a buffet at least once while they’re in town if not more times. In our humble opinion the buffet is the most economical way to eat in Las Vegas. The cost certainly is one of the factors but it’s not just that because there’s such a variety if you get something that you don’t like there is no problem in going and getting something that you do. There was a time when the Las Vegas buffet was not top-notch food but it was certainly reasonable. It is still reasonable but not is an expensive as it once was. The food is improved quite a bit and so has price. Right now the top rated buffet in Las Vegas as the Bacchanal over it Caesar’s Palace. Although we could make a strong argument for the wicked spoon located at the Cosmopolitan. There are a lot of good buffets that are moderately priced with good food and good variety.

Let us just say this when you’re considering what Las Vegas entertainment, which Las Vegas food you’d like to try, what Las Vegas attraction you’d like to visit were which Las Vegas hotel like to stay in referred to the Las Vegas Travel Guide and check out Trip Advisor or Yelp for the latest reviews.
